Medicinal Herbs
Bacopa (Brahmi) Extract
Bacopa monnieri
Bacopa (Bacopa monnieri) is a low, creeping perennial herb, its smooth stems trailing 10 to 40 centimetres and rooting as they go, with soft upright branches, blunt stalkless leaves under a centimetre and a half long set in opposite pairs, and single white flowers from April to June. It is common in the wild across Vietnam, along the banks of paddy fields and on damp rough grass, and grows in India and China too. The whole plant is picked, used fresh or dried, with no particular processing. Its Vietnamese names, rau đắng and rau sam đắng, count it among the bitter greens.
