Crinum latifolium Extract

Crinum latifolium

Trinh nữ hoàng cung (Crinum latifolium) is a bulbous perennial herb. Its bulb is the size of a large onion, ten to fifteen centimetres across, and the leaf sheaths wrap into a short false stem from which thin strap leaves run eighty centimetres or more, their edges waved and the base flushed red-purple where it meets the ground. Umbels of six to eighteen white flowers, dotted purple-red, rise on a long stalk. Often said to belong to Thailand and Cambodia, it has long grown in Vietnam and is now cultivated in all three regions. The leaf is the part taken, used fresh, or shredded, toasted pale gold and dried.
