Moringa
Moringa oleifera
Moringa (Moringa oleifera) is a small tree of five to ten metres carrying feathery leaves up to sixty centimetres long, three times divided and made up of six to nine pairs of small, pale green leaflets. Large white flowers, shaped a little like those of a pea, open between January and March and are followed by long three-sided pods of twenty-five to fifty centimetres that split into three and shed winged seeds. In Vietnam the tree is widely planted around Nha Trang, in Bình Thuận and on Phú Quốc island, and its leaves are picked and eaten as a vegetable, as they are across India and Africa.
