Noni Extract

Morinda citrifolia

Noni (Morinda citrifolia) is a tree of six to eight metres with a smooth trunk and stout branches, growing wild in low, damp ground along rivers and streams. Its paired leaves are elliptical, twelve to fifteen centimetres long. It flowers in January and February and fruits in July and August: the fruit knobbly, egg-shaped, five or six centimetres long, pale green, then white or pink, with a strong, sharp smell and a soft edible pulp around a hard kernel. It is plentiful in southern Vietnam and has lately been found in Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị and Thừa Thiên. Roots are dug and dried; the other parts are used fresh.
