Jasminum Powder
Jasminum subtriplinerve
Chè vằng (Jasminum subtriplinerve) is a scrambling shrub of the jasmine family, forming thickets along hedges and bamboo clumps or climbing into larger trees, its hard, jointed stems rising a metre or more and trailing up to twenty metres. The paired, pointed leaves are 4 to 7.5cm long and marked by three clear veins; the flowers open white in loose clusters, and the round fruit ripens yellow from July to October. It grows wild the length of Vietnam, with northern stands in Hòa Bình, Thái Bình, Thanh Hóa, Nghệ An and Hà Tĩnh. The leaves are picked year round and dried, then boiled or steeped as an everyday drink.
