Specified, tested, documented
Vinaherb buys against a written specification, has the material tested by third-party laboratories, and issues the documents lot by lot.
Bought against a specification
A purchase starts from a written specification covering species and botanical name, form and cut, moisture, foreign matter, and whatever else your process actually runs on. That specification is what the material is bought and graded against, and it is what a later lot is compared to when you reorder.
Common names are not specifications. Cassia and true cinnamon are both sold as cinnamon and are not interchangeable; a specification naming the species settles that before the money moves.
Testing
Testing is done mainly by third-party laboratories rather than in-house. Using an independent lab is the point: a result we produced ourselves is worth less to your quality function than one from a laboratory with no interest in the outcome.
What is tested depends on the product and on the market it is going to. Tell the trade desk the destination market and the intended use, and the test set can be matched to what that market's importers are required to hold.
Documents
Two documents travel with a lot:
Certificate of analysis (COA)
The test results for that specific lot, referenced by the lot code printed on the sack.
Certificate (CERT)
The accompanying export and origin documentation for the shipment.
Both are released against a verified trade account, and both are lot-specific. A certificate detached from the lot it belongs to proves nothing, which is why the site does not publish a generic one.
Certification schemes
Whether a given product can be supplied under a particular certification scheme is answered per product and per lot, in writing, before an order is placed. If your market requires a specific scheme, raise it with the trade desk at the specification stage rather than at shipment.
Do not order against a scheme requirement on the strength of a website. Ask for it in writing and check the certificate against the issuing body.
